June 13, 2025

More than twenty people, representing some of Scotland’s biggest third sector, public bodies and universities came along to our “Please Do Inclusive Communication” video launch event.

Four Lived Experience Experts shared their insights into communication exclusion and inclusion. Thomas, Marion, Elliott, and Sarah also provided clear advice to any organisation wanting to be communication inclusive.

Participants heard how many people experience communication disadvantage and exclusion, and why.

Most of the audience agreed afterwards that they learned a lot or quite a lot. And that inclusive communication matters a lot to their organisation. Most plan to act on inclusive communication because of the event.

The audience think the top three benefits of inclusive communication to organisations are –

  • A reputation for inclusion
  • Compliance with the law and
  • Reaching more people from more diverse communities.
